Increased safety, efficiency and cost-savings with creative solution in wiper motor control circuit board assembly.
Challenge
Hand soldered and resoldered wires
A top manufacturer of heavy agricultural equipment depended on ADCO Circuits expertise in PCBA assembly to resolve a difficult issue with their wiper motor control board.
ADCO Circuits sought a solution to enhance efficiency in the circuit board assembly process,
aiming for both improved productivity and cost savings. The problem stemmed from a unique challenge involving wires that were hand soldered to the circuit boards prior to the automated electronic components soldering process. The situation necessitated additional rework and led to increased costs for the customer due to the time involved in resoldering the wire.
CREATIVE, CUSTOM SOLUTION
Tooling & locking pins
ADCO developed custom tooling and terminal locking pins to assist with an automated soldering process which could accommodate the wired and electronic components at the same time. The tooling allowed ADCO to fold the wires down during the wave soldering process ensuring they would stay in place.
COST-SAVING IMPACT:
A safer and more reliable wiper blade
This solution allowed the team to transition from manual hand soldering to a more automated, cost-effective process. The client trusted ADCO Circuits to deliver a creative solution while upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
ADCO Circuits’ innovative process not only achieved substantial cost savings for their client but also enhanced assembly efficiency, and improved soldering consistency.
